Controller Support for Windows/Mac for Vanilla Minecraft

As a regular player of Minecraft, I use a controller as I am disabled and unable to play with Keyboard and Mouse for lengthy periods of time.

I play Java on Mac and have to wait for full game drops to be released before the mod creators implement an update to their controller mods. This puts me way behind when the Java snapshots are released, which is quite disappointing. 

To see controller support added to vanilla Minecraft would be a significant improvement to gameplay for those who rely on controllers.

    Agreed, sometimes I don't want to sit at a desk to play Minecraft Java and just want to play on a big screen, but at the moment I need mods but mods are sometimes behind with updates. I would like if they implement a feature/controls for controllers in Minecraft Java
