An alternative method for acquiring sponges

Sponges are incredibly useful in various projects as it makes draining any specific area filled with water significantly easier, however they aren't the easiest to acquire since finding and going past guardians in an ocean monument is feat of its own. An easier method of acquiring it and making it more accessible would be to add the living creatures of sea sponges to warm oceans in Minecraft. Some cool features with these sponges could be; regrowth of sponges in the area where they're harvested, turtles occasionally eating sponges, different stages in the growth of the sponges, variety of colors and features in sponges, etc.
