A way to "retame" baby pets / give away pets

Let's say I'm playing on a server with some friends, and I have two tamed wolves. One of my friends is in need of a wolf, but can't find any naturally spawned ones. Unfortunately for her, if I breed my wolves, the resulting baby wolf will belong to me, and if she breeds my wolves, the baby will STILL be mine.

In cases like these, with wolves and cats, I think it would be neat to allow players to give away baby pets by some means. Perhaps if the current owner feeds his pet alongside the would-be owner, the ownership would change between them, or something like that. For example: If I get a baby wolf and feed it a bone, then my friend feeds it a bone of her own, it will then become hers.

    I like to play Minecraft with my sister and this feature would be great!
