I want to switch the attack behavior of the skeleton underwater in Java Edition to direct attack like Bedrock Edition.
In Java Edition, even if the skeleton gets into the water, it will attack with a bow and arrow just like on the ground. Arrows slow down due to resistance in the water, but they do a lot of damage.
However, in Bedrock Edition, I decided that the bow and arrow were useless underwater, so I switched to direct attack. The same can be said for strays.
Note: Incorrect information was described about the behavior of stray. We apologize for the correction.
It seems that many advanced users who play Java Edition say that it is okay as it is because it is boring, but for beginners etc. this is annoying.
Therefore, Bedrock Edition's underwater behavior should also be introduced in Java Edition.
This will improve the consistency of the underwater behavior of both versions of the skeleton and stray.
It will also be easier for beginners.
In my personal opinion, advanced players would say, "Don't do anything extra!" Or "The fight is boring." However, I think it is unavoidable considering the consistency of appearance.
Thank you.
