How can desert wells be the solution we have been looking for, for YEARS!

Desert wells are just so disappointing to find and I know a lot of people have ideas to fix them but I suggest we marry them with another disappointing feature in Minecraft, curses.

I have a really good diamond chest plate but it's got a curse of binding so I throw it away and never think about it again. What if I take up the adventure to find a desert well and throw the cursed item into the purifying waters and BOOM I now have a useable piece of amour and a purpose use for this rare structure. 

This could even make curses better, maybe the process of fixing a curse adds a blessing making cursed items more useful and sort after.

This could really be great and fix two problems at the same time.

    This could also tie into the lore of the ancient builders that came before us and their mysterious ways. The desert being home to Temples and Wells, what was in the desert they were so interested in?

    I think that the idea of turning cursed items into some kind of blessed item (or even simply removing the curse) is great!

    Instead of just using a well though, I think that this "discovery" by the ancient builders would have had big consequences (maybe people getting curses on purpose to get blessings after a trip to the well?) and would have been a little more gatekept. Why not in a secret room in the Desert Temple or the Jungle Temple?
