This idea is basically where you can toggle on and off different featured added throughout the game's history
Personally, I feel that everything added in Minecraft throughout the years has been for the better and that every major feature has been beneficial. But I have found that others opinion's have not been as fond of some of the new features and like them enough to go to the new version but dislike them enough that they are still a bit unsatisfied.
So when creating a new world you can choose to have the 1.16 nether or the pre 1.16 nether, or new caves or old caves. It is really up to the developers how far this idea can go. It can just go to the things I just mentioned, or there can be things like toggling on/of different biomes, cave types, and mobs, even smaller features (but that would probably be with game rules). Or it could go even bigger and turn off things like diorite gravel Blackstone patches, or even turn caves off in general. The ideas are really limitless.
Some good ideas that some of the community may be iffy on would be with things such as: The new build height (for lag), or the current underwater caves being turned off in 1.18 (ability to toggle them back on)
So implementing this idea will not only make the community happier but it will also give the developers a chance to make more abstract ideas knowing only half the community may like it and still feel ok adding it. Like things such as a void biome where there is just a biome that blends into a void.
