(Java Parity) Items can be placed on slabs, stairs, and trapdoors

Items such as lanterns, candles, and sea pickles cannot be positioned below (referring to lanterns), or above these blocks (lanterns are excused from this). As such, I think it would be a useful tool for bedrock users while building and decorating their bases. 

For example, if a slab (or corresponding block, stair, etc) is positioned correctly, another block can be placed on top of it without a gap in between, (or in other words, the top, or lower half of the block isn't transparent). And so, another item can be placed there. 

I've experimented with a few things, in particular, you can't place candles on half slabs, stairs, or trapdoors, along with sea pickles. Lanterns can be placed above slabs and stairs, but cannot be placed below slabs.
In Java, this feature I'm mentioning is available to them.

I would appreciate it if this was not only capable for Java users, but for the bedrock community as well.

  Thank you so much, every nice build tutorial has lanterns on trapdoor, it looks so good, but on bedrock it can't be done

  Why hasn’t this been implemented yet?? What’s the big deal? We should have gotten this in 1.18. I’m so disappointed because issues about not being able to place items on trapdoors, slabs, and stairs was moved from bug tracker to here. It seems that all that did was place the issue out of mine out of sight. Please get this included in the next update!!

  This bugs me so much as a builder that i cant place lanterns,pots,etc unless its a basic build block. My mostly empty,sad shelves would be a lot better if we could do this
