Recently, we've seen a lot of larger updates, so I think we should get a smaller update that everyone can enjoy; my proposal is an update that enhances the atmosphere of the game! When I look across a Minecraft world, it can be very pretty, but it feels so... still. Besides a few animals and clouds, the world seems so dead, still, and unmoving; adding in features or video settings that enhance the atmosphere of the world would make the world much more polished and alive!
Here are some suggestions:
- Now that Minecraft can use shaders, I think that with a few tweaks, the "Blustery Day" pack by Xilefian would be a great video setting! It could be applied to leaves, water, grass, flowers, etc., and change speed and intensity depending on the weather (Windier days, thunderstorms, etc.)
- New weather conditions like blizzards, sandstorms, and fog that reduce visibility, as well as wind! Also, changes to current weather conditions to make them more alive (Thunderstorms could use wind, reduced visibility, and updated thunder sounds)
- An updated sky with more spectacular sunsets, and an updated night sky with a lot more stars, and even planets and shooting stars!
- More sounds from the environment (Wind rustling through leaves when near trees, wind whistling by when the player is going fast or is on top of a mountain, tremors and echos when underground, etc.)
- New blocks or mobs such as cattails, or even birds, whose tweets and whistles you can hear from far away!
- And a lot more!
