When you are making your redstone suggestions, please note that Java and Bedrock will not have the exact same the same redstone systems - this would require redoing redstone system completely on one platform or the other. The two systems are functionally different and are going to stay that way. Please be sure to tag your suggestions with (Java) or (Bedrock).

Gus I like the idea! I too agree that we need a more efficient way to transmit Redstone upward and downward. Please checkout my submission for a Redstone Laser and tell me what you think. While I think copper wiring would add some much needed steam punk aesthetics to minecraft, I don't think sticking things to walls like vertical Redstone is the most practical approach. One of the fundamental issues with Redstone dust is that it has a high spacial cost; requiring a base block and the Redstone carrying accessory (Redstone Dust, repeaters, comparators, and Redstone torches). This means every one block of transmitted signal requires a minimum volume of two blocks in space. The Redstone Laser I've submitted will transmit signal up, down, left, right, back, and forth (not diagonally) and will pass through only a 1x1 line of transparent blocks; powering the first OPAQUE block it hits. I've also submitted a recommendation for Redwax but it has yet to be approved. This would allow you to mix Redstone and wax and "Redwax" a block, this would make the block a selective conduit for Redstone power but would not change the surface of the block. Basically Redwaxed blocks could be powered by Redstone accessories but will only transmit power to other adjacent redwaxed blocks or Redstone accessories. Adjacent blocks that are not "Redwaxed" will not be powered. I think your idea is great and definitely want it if only for the visuals!

I would also like to see this, maybe the copper wires could be used for redstone connectivity underwater.
