When a villager hears a bell ring, they go toward their bed and stay there for around 10 seconds. This is meant to help with raids. However, if there is currently a threat waiting at or near the bed, the villager will ignore this threat and stay at the bed for several more seconds before running away, taking many hearts of damage. I suggest that, if they are hit by some threat while finding their bed, villagers should ignore the bell and run.
This honestly feels like a bug more than anything, but I'm pretty sure it "works as intended." It's a pretty obscure suggestion that I doubt will get much attention, but I think it's a needed adjustment.
