Defense turrets against mobs

I know there is the snowgolem that can hit the mobs and u can change their snowball into a fire charge, but this one do only damage from fire, and isn't very good. The iron golem is good in melee but don't hit the creepers or spiders or phantom and with the pillagers they can damage it very easy so u need to spend iron for repair it, so why don't add a new mob. This one can be good to defense your base from the distance maybe don't do much damage  so maybe 1 or 2 heart damage is enough. So maybe this mob can act like a turret and it can defend your base from pillagers or u can use them to help u to defend a village from other mobs or defend your base from other mobs. I think this can be a good idea because there are so many hostile mobs and this will be so much better than a snowgolem without damage or only with fire damage.
