I have experimented with mods that already do this and the effect is incredible since less memory is created and the fps sky-rockets but why do we need to rely on mods when you as Mojang have the power to change it. If you did this older devices could use minecraft again and so meaning you could make more profits and more people could get to experience this game for the first time.
How to do it:
- Use the FOV variable plus a secondary variable that won't effect FOV. Lets called it render-able range
- Subtract this value from 360 if it is in this range entity's and particles should still work but not render so if you turned around you would not get a large lag spike.
One more Improvement could be is if the render-able range could only render chunks infront of the player and since this secondary varible was added to the FOV, Turning directions would not constantly change which chunks should load.
