Using the command
/setpoint set [name] [coordinates]
/setpoint remove [name]
you will be able to modify special points in your world like the worldspawn, the spawnpoint, the enderdragon spawnpoint or even add custom points. Using this you can finally execute commands from the worldspawn or the spawnpoint of a player or other special places. Additionally you will be able to use custom or built-in points in commands like /setblock or /fill, in a selector with @a[point=mypoint,pointdx=1,pointdy=2,pointdz=1] to variably test for players at a special point with extra selectors for the distance and in many other commands or even things like Advancements, Predicates etc.
Maybe you could also use a selector like @a[point=mypoint,pointdistance=5] to test in a spherical radius-like area like the distance selector does.
It would allow mapmakers to execute things at special points like the worldspawn and with some extra effort maybe the whole spawning system of structures could be updated with this. So you have a point at every Village or Dungeon Spawner. There would be a lot of possibilities with points if they were added.
