Dear Mojang Team,
I love Minecraft and have played for years, but I’m very concerned about the new version numbering system (e.g., “Minecraft 26” instead of 1.22).
This change negatively affects many players, especially:
-
Those averse to sudden changes
-
Players with PTSD or OCD
-
Players with disabilities, including blind gamers who rely on predictable versioning for accessibility
For long-time players, the old 1.x.x system was logical and hierarchical, making updates, mod compatibility, and mental mapping much easier. The new system disrupts that, creating unnecessary confusion and stress.
I respectfully ask you to reconsider this change or provide an option for players who want to continue thinking in the old 1.x.x versioning system, to keep Minecraft accessible and predictable for everyone.
Thank you for listening.
Sincerely,
Jeremy Dillahay
