Currently, Minecraft on macOS relies on outdated OpenGL, which leads to suboptimal performance on Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3/M4) chips. Community projects like "VulkanMod" have proven that by using the Vulkan API (via MoltenVK translation to Metal), performance can skyrocket to over 1000 FPS with significantly lower CPU/GPU temperatures.
I suggest that Mojang officially implements a Vulkan rendering backend for the macOS version. This would:
Drastically improve frame rates and stability.
Reduce power consumption and heat on MacBooks.
Modernize the technical stack for future macOS updates where OpenGL is deprecated.
