In short: Single-block logic gates - the basics - AND, OR, NOT, and XOR - two inputs and one output, similar to comparators. Traditional redstone logic gates are quite large and can be subject to some arbitrary requirements (such as torch NOT gates potentially burning out) without workarounds.
Along with improved reliability and a more compact form factor, such gates would also reduce the number of block updates per circuit.
As copper is a good electrical conductor, it could be included in the crafting recipes for such gates. This would also provide a solid, somewhat common use case for the material.
