I would like to suggest adding lions (savanna) and tigers (jungle) as Neutral wildlife mobs that expand biome ecosystems and player choice.
Lions spawn in small groups, with one or two members naturally having manes. The mane can be trimmed with shears, and over time it regrows on a random member of the group. Tigers spawn alone or with a cub and can climb trees.
They are hostile by default and prioritize nearby mobs over players. A new item, “Catnip,” would temporarily make them neutral, similar to how Piglins react to gold, encouraging item-based interaction rather than forced combat.
They may attack passive mobs, undead mobs, and Creepers.
Like Ocelots, they would not be fully tameable, but repeated peaceful interaction could build trust. A trusted player would not be attacked or retaliated against, and if the player is attacked nearby, they would defend them. Like cats, they would deter Creepers and could prevent nearby explosions.
The purpose of this proposal is not to add stronger threats, but to transform danger into an opportunity for interaction, expanding biodiversity and enriching player experience.
