Can I say — Minecraft is the greatest game I have ever played. But I want to make that experience portable, so I got Minecraft on Android.
I struggle with performance. Even after setting the graphics to the lowest possible, it still remains the same.
My device is from 2018 and it handles most other games very well, particularly those that use Vulkan. The RenderDragon engine currently uses OpenGL.
With Java Edition beginning to adopt Vulkan, it highlights how newer APIs are becoming part of Minecraft’s technical direction. Since Vulkan has already been implemented on the Nintendo® Switch, this shows that such integration is technically possible. Maintaining OpenGL as a fallback option could ensure compatibility with older devices.
