Alpacas would be a peaceful passive support mob introducing a new gameplay category: environmental defensive support rather than offensive strength.
In real life, alpacas live closely with humans and are known for their calming presence. They are used in animal-assisted therapy and help reduce stress. In Incan culture, alpacas were considered sacred mountain animals. These traits can translate into subtle, balanced mechanics.
Two variants:
Huacaya – fluffy, dense wool, larger Calmness Aura radius, drops Huacaya Wool (better insulation in cold biomes).
Suri – long, silky, slightly twisted fiber, stronger negative-effect reduction, drops Suri Wool (used for cloaks or decorative blocks).
Core mechanic: Calmness Aura
Within a limited radius:
– Reduced hostile mob detection range (~10–15%)
– Slightly slower hostile attack frequency
– Small passive health regeneration
Stacking limited for balance.
Purifying Presence:
Gradually reduces duration of Poison, Wither, and selected negative effects (~20%), without replacing potions.
Spawning: Mountains, Meadow, Cherry Grove in small peaceful herds.
Do not spit unless attacked.
No PvP dominance – defensive utility only.
Alpacas would introduce harmony, balance, and peaceful environmental support without disrupting core gameplay.
