I am proposing a new accessibility and gameplay feature for Minecraft Bedrock (Mobile): the ability to place individual Hotbar Slot Buttons anywhere on the HUD.
Currently, mobile players must tap the bottom hotbar to switch items. In fast-paced situations like PvP, MLG water buckets, or building, this can be slow and awkward. Community-made concepts (like the "Slot Hotbar Button" mod) prove that having "floating" shortcuts for specific slots significantly improves the experience.
Key Features:
-
Custom Placement: Players can select a specific hotbar slot (e.g., Slot 1 for a sword or Slot 9 for food) and place a dedicated button for it anywhere on the screen via the "Customize Controls" menu.
-
Improved Efficiency: This allows for "Claw" or multi-finger playstyles, making item switching instantaneous without reaching for the bottom of the screen.
-
HUD Customization: Support for adjusting the size, transparency (opacity), and position of these buttons to keep the screen clear.
-
Layout Profiles: The ability to save different button configurations for different activities, such as a "Combat Layout" or a "Building Layout."
Why this is needed: As Bedrock grows, mobile players need better tools to stay competitive with Controller and Keyboard players. Adding these customizable shortcuts would bridge the input gap and make touch controls feel modern, tactical, and much more responsive.
