I would like to propose adding a whale as a new mob to the game. I have noticed that many players want these giants, so I would love to present my idea.
Whales would be a great addition to the atmosphere of Minecraft's underappreciated ocean depths. They would appear in deep oceans, often near coral reefs.
On the shores and beaches near the oceans, the player would hear their rare songs, even when they are not visible.
In the oceans, the player would not be able to tame it, but will be able to bond with it. Animals so majestic and endangered should not be treated as breeding stock, even in a game. Once the player has formed a bond, instead of saddling the animal as they would a horse or donkey, they can apply black ocean-inspired (like spirals/waves) markings on the whale's belly (markings are optional).
Even after forming a bond, the whale would still behave as in the wild- swimming its own paths across the oceans. The only change is that the bonded player could summon the whale with a horn. The whale may swim to the player on the shore, but it does not have to.
Players would not fully control a whale like a horse. Up to four players (two per fin) could attach to its fins with a sprint swimming pose, with one bonded player able to suggest a direction. The whale may or may not follow. It would not be possible with wild whales. Drowned would avoid whales, reducing but not eliminating the risk of attacks on players. Whales would be rare, peaceful, and not harm players or other mobs.
