The Concept:
Currently, the End's sky is a static, solid black void. To improve the dimension's atmosphere, I suggest adding End Stars—a subtle, shimmering skybox effect that makes the dimension feel more like a magical, alien void.
Visual Design:
-
The Look: These are small, pixelated End Stars in shades of purple, magenta, and white.
-
Atmosphere: These are not meant to look like realistic outer space. Instead, they should feel like Void Shimmer or End Dust. They should be purely aesthetic and move slowly as the player turns to create a sense of depth.
-
Official Inspiration: This design is inspired by the Echoing Void aesthetic from Minecraft Dungeons, which uses a faint purple glow and twinkling spots to make the End feel more complete.
Why this fits Minecraft:
-
Consistency: It uses a visual style already approved by Mojang in other official Minecraft titles, ensuring it stays on brand.
-
Performance: A skybox texture update is very lightweight and won't cause lag for players on mobile, consoles, or lower-end PCs.
-
Dimension Identity: It gives the End a unique, mystical identity while keeping the dark void theme that fans love.
