When you enter the end, the Ender Dragon fight immediately starts without your control. I think the Ender Dragon should be moved somewhere else, like a special area in the End, while leaving the possibility to the player to explore the End and return to the overworld without the need to defeat the Ender Dragon.
- Reason for the suggested change:
It is my understanding that the Ender Dragon, like the End dimension itself, was introduced to give Minecraft some sort of "conclusion" or end-goal. I believe that the first implementation of the End, it had only the main island, which explains why the fight with the Ender Dragon starts immediately. However, the outer islands as well as more structures were introduced later, giving a reason to explore the End and obtain end-game items like the elytra or shulker shells. These changes make the Ender Dragon fight more of a necessity to unlock the "end-game" rather than being the end-goal itself. Many players, especially on multiplayer, refuse to enter the End dimension at all because they want to avoid "ending the game", thus locking themselves out of the End content.
The Ender Dragon fight should be an event that the player has to initiate themselves, for example, by moving it to a different unique place/structure in the End and/or requiring some tasks to be completed in order to spawn the dragon (similarly to how you find the strongholds in the overworld). This will make the Ender Dragon the intended pseudo-end boss again.
