I'd love to suggest adding a brass-family sound (trumpet, trombone, French horn, etc.) to note blocks. The current instrument lineup covers percussion, strings, woodwinds, and a few novelty sounds, but there's no true brass voice. That's one of the last major gaps in the in-game "orchestra."
A simple way to implement this: assign a brass-style instrument sound to note blocks placed on top of melon blocks. Melon doesn't currently trigger a unique note block instrument, so it's a clean and intuitive candidate. It's survival-accessible and fits neatly into the existing "block type determines instrument" system without requiring any UI changes or new mechanics.
From a creative standpoint, adding a trumpet or horn sound would meaningfully expand what players can compose. Brass instruments are foundational in orchestral music - they're essential for fanfares, cinematic scores, jazz-style arrangements, and bold melodic lines. Right now, creators approximate brass using banjo or didgeridoo, but those are workarounds, not true equivalents. A dedicated brass sound would allow more authentic and expressive builds.
This change would reuse existing note block mechanics, require only a new instrument sound and block mapping, and have no gameplay or balance impact. Small scope, high creative payoff. Adding a brass voice would help round out the ensemble and make Minecraft's in-game music system feel more complete.
