I think, it's time to switch from native app to creating an internet website for "minecraft launcher" to then wrapping it inside chromium (CEF) because thanks to this not only the download speeds would be greater if combining user local disc, but also thanks to this friends system would be created, feedback websites, community websites could have been in one unified place in the launcher like what steam does, and thanks to this potentially create store api which would bring cross platform frictionless multiplayer for friends and others alike, true achievements, perhaps "steam workshop" like support inside the launcher among many other things. While also at the same time reducing the burden the staff has thus able to fully focus on the main project aka the minecraft game and making the experience for usual users even more intuitive and frictionless, especially with that multiplayer part I have mentitoned.
Basically, perhaps mojang team would be able to create equilavent of valve's steamworks api but for minecraft with it's own in game overlay with minecraft aesthetics instead, so to be more frictionless true plug and play experience, while also for the first time thanks to this able to download mods securely and faster thanks to having everything unified for the first time as well.
Also to reduce some ram usage, some chromium modules would be removed and certain other things optimized in house like what valve with CEF did back in 2010.
So, I wonder if this will be a good idea?
