Yesterday a trident drowned killed my nautilus Pomelo while I was riding on him to build underwater. I was really sad, but I accepted it and figured that I need to prioritize getting armor for my next nautilus to protect him.
Today I was building a bridge between two cliffs while riding on my happy ghast Orbee.... and he got killed by a trident drowned. I didn't think a drowned would attack my ghast in the air. Happy ghasts don't even have armor, what am I supposed to do different? Not ride him??
Both times I didn't even realize there was a trident drowned nearby until my animal was already dead. It's embarrassing, but I actually cried about my mount dying this time.
What is the point of having mounts that make building in/over water easier if they can get instakilled by hostile mobs that spawn day and night? And there's nothing I can do to stop it? Honestly, these mounts being so easily killed makes me feel like the game sees them as disposable. Am I supposed to just replace my pet animals over and over because they can get killed in a split second while I'm using them for their intended purpose? That doesn't feel like the spirit of minecraft at all.
I don't want drowned to be able to hurt my mounts. I would rather it just kill my character instead. Please at least make mounts resist trident damage so I have more than one second to notice the danger. I've been playing minecraft since 2010 and I've never felt the need to leave feedback before. I'm just really sad about my pets.
