Plants are a pretty versatile class of objects in Minecraft, and Villagers are known for their large variety of trades, but Villagers and plants hardly overlap, except in the Farmer, but they only specialize in food, so what about a new Villager class which would trade for various plants? The Botanist would suit that need. The Botanist Villager would utilize a Botany Table, and would be found in Greenhouses throughout the various villages. The Botany Table could be crafted with 4 wooden planks of any kind, as well as 2 leaf blocks of any kind. The Botany Table would allow users to "clone" plants using bone meal and hanging roots, based on the practice of cloning plants in real life, which utilize cuttings. This would be similar to duplicating armor trims. Botanists would trade for various decorative plant types, which would mainly be the various flowers, saplings and other non-consumable flowers. For some examples of items they would request, I think it would make sense for them to request large groups of common flowers (poppies, dandelions and cornflowers), bone meal, and hanging roots. Some of the trades they could offer could include some of the biome specific flowers (blue orchids, alliums, pink petals and wildflowers), saplings of various kinds, as well as their best trades being for much harder to find flowers, such as the wither rose and spore blossoms. The Botanist would allow players to much more easily acquire large quantities and varieties of plant life.
