I would like to suggest adding Elephants as a rare and intelligent mob,
focused on world-building, creativity, and environmental interaction,
rather than combat or resource farming.
Elephant Behavior and Spawning:
- Elephants would spawn in small family groups (adults with a baby).
- They would be extremely rare, similar to Pandas.
- This rarity would make encounters feel special and memorable.
Creative Banner Interaction (Key Feature):
Elephants could have a unique interaction with banners and dyes.
If a player:
- Places a Banner in front of an Elephant
- Gives the Elephant a Dye
The Elephant would use its trunk to paint the banner,
applying a random banner pattern using the given dye color.
This would:
- Create a playful and creative way to customize banners
- Reuse existing systems (Banners and Dyes)
- Make Elephants feel intelligent and interactive
- Add an organic, world-driven method of decoration
Memory and Intelligence:
In real life, elephants are known for their excellent memory.
In Minecraft, this could be reflected by subtle behavior,
such as remembering players who interact peacefully with them.
Environmental Defense (Not Combat):
Elephants would not be aggressive by default and would not be “war pets.”
When irritated or when nearby mobs threaten them:
- Elephants could push hostile mobs away
- Apply strong knockback to mobs like Zombies and Skeletons
- Act as a living shield rather than an attacker
They would not deal high damage,
focusing on crowd control and protection instead.
