I would like to suggest adding Seagulls as an ambient ocean mob,
focused on atmosphere, exploration cues, and environmental storytelling,
rather than direct gameplay rewards.
Seagull Behavior:
- Seagulls could dive into the water and return with a fish in their beak.
- They may eat the fish themselves, or rarely drop it on the ground.
- This behavior would be mostly visual, not a reliable food source.
Player Interaction:
- If a player holds Fish or Bread, seagulls could approach out of curiosity.
- This would create small, charming interactions without turning them into pets or farmable mobs.
Environmental Interaction:
- Seagulls could occasionally land on player boats!
creating memorable moments during ocean exploration.
- On beaches and islands, seagull sounds would add a living, coastal atmosphere.
Exploration Indicators:
Where many seagulls are flying in circles, it could naturally suggest:
- Nearby treasure
- Rare ocean structures (such as Ocean Monuments)
- Other large ocean life, such as whales
This would turn seagulls into natural visual clues,
rewarding attentive players without using markers or UI hints.
Design Goals:
- No guaranteed loot
- No automation
- No combat role
- Focus on immersion, discovery, and environmental storytelling
