I would like to suggest a small visual upgrade that expands on existing mechanics,
without affecting combat balance or adding new complex systems.
1. Glowing Armor Details Using Glow Ink Sac
Allow Glow Ink Sacs to be used when customizing armor (for example, together with armor trims).
This would make specific armor details softly glow in the dark.
The effect would be purely visual:
- No stat changes
- No gameplay advantage
- Similar in intensity to glow item frames
This would give Glow Ink a stronger purpose and allow players to create more expressive armor designs.
2. Echo Shard Pulsing Effect on Armor
Echo Shards (dropped by the Warden) could be used as a rare cosmetic upgrade for armor.
When applied, the armor would display a subtle pulsing or vibration effect,
similar to the visual effect seen on the Warden’s chest.
This would:
- Give Echo Shards a meaningful decorative use
- Create a visual connection between Deep Dark items and armor
- Reward exploration of dangerous areas without adding power creep
Both ideas focus on:
- Visual identity rather than strength
- Reusing existing items and effects
- Optional cosmetic upgrades
- Player creativity and self-expression
