I would like to suggest a few connected ideas that focus on atmosphere, immersion, and decoration, while reusing existing mechanics:
1. Phantom Night Camouflage
At night and in dark environments, Phantoms could become partially transparent,
with only their eyes glowing softly.
Their full appearance would only be revealed when they start attacking a player.
This would:
- Make Phantoms feel more mysterious and threatening
- Improve nighttime atmosphere
- Add tension without changing combat difficulty
2. Invisible Item Frames Using Phantom Membrane
If a Phantom Membrane is placed inside an Item Frame,
the Item Frame itself could become invisible.
Only the displayed item would remain visible.
This functionality already exists through commands,
so adding it through gameplay would greatly expand creative decoration possibilities.
3. Invisible Backgrounds for Signs and Banners
Using Phantom Membrane as an ingredient or interaction,
players could make:
- Signs with invisible backgrounds (text only)
- Banners with invisible backgrounds, showing only the patterns
This would allow for much cleaner builds, floating symbols, labels, and advanced decorative designs.
These ideas would:
- Give Phantom Membrane more meaningful uses
- Expand creative building and decoration
- Reuse existing systems instead of adding complex new mechanics
- Keep invisibility as a visual feature, not a gameplay advantage
