Its been a year and mojang still hasnt reverted the AWFUL parity change they made with locator maps. it sucks that bedrock players are forced to use the simple dot on maps to find specific biomes or structures from Cartographer Villagers. instead of making the java arrow on maps the same as bedrock they instead made the bedrock arrow the same as java which was bad on its own. unlike java that can install a mod to help with this limitation, bedrocks stricter modding freedom makes it unable to re-add the arrow on maps meaning bedrock players are forced to cope with this feature. they didnt make exploration better they made it practically impossible for the average player who isnt going to spend their time knowing where is east and west. the better option whould be to either revert this change and make java the same or instead add loadstone compasses traded from the cartographer that leads to specific biomes and structures. its been more than a year and idk if anyone will read this but i hope this gets changed and mojang fixes the current state of locator maps.
