Right now, cosmetics only work on the Persona body (Steve/Alex variants). Many players prefer using their own custom skins—whether made by themselves or downloaded from sites like Skinseed or NovaSkin—but they can’t use any of the 3D cosmetics they purchase.
This creates a barrier where players avoid buying cosmetics simply because they don’t want to switch to the Persona model.
Introduce a small optional unlock (for example, a one‑time $3 fee) that enables cosmetics on classic skins. After unlocking, players can attach hats, wings, backpacks, capes, and other 3D items to any custom skin they use.
This would:
• Increase cosmetic sales
• Give Marketplace creators a larger audience
• Let players keep their identity and creativity
To keep things safe and prevent inappropriate skins from becoming “certified” when cosmetics are added, Mojang could use a simple automated filter:
1. Skin Scan Before Cosmetics Are Applied
When a player tries to equip cosmetics on a classic skin, the game runs a quick automated check for:
• Nudity
• Hate symbols
• Offensive text
• Inappropriate shapes or patterns
If the skin fails the check, cosmetics simply can’t be applied until the skin is changed.
2. Optional Manual Review for Edge Cases
If a skin is falsely flagged, players could request a manual review—similar to how Marketplace submissions work.
