I suggest adding the Badger to Forest, Taiga, and Birch Forest biomes. This short, sturdy mammal would introduce new interactions with the terrain and a unique "burrow" mechanic.
1. Appearance and Behavior:
Badgers have a distinct black-and-white striped face and a low, stocky body. They are nocturnal: during the day, they stay inside their dens, and at night, they come out to forage for food. They are neutral but will defend themselves fiercely with a "hiss" if cornered.
2. Unique Mechanic: The Burrows
Badgers should have the ability to create "Burrow" blocks. These look like a hole in the side of a hill or in the ground.
Inside these burrows, players might find stored items like Roots, Berries, or Mushrooms.
Badgers "dig" through dirt and grass, occasionally turning blocks into Coarse Dirt, which helps the forest look more natural and "lived-in."
3. Diet and Interaction:
Favorite Food: They love Honeycombs and Sweet Berries.
Bee Interaction: Just like in real life, badgers are thick-skinned and love honey. They might occasionally visit a Bee Nest to snack on honeycombs, ignoring the bee stings.
Pest Control: They hunt Rabbits and Silverfish, making them useful to have near your base if you have an infestation.
4. Breeding:
You can breed them using Earthworms (a potential new drop from digging dirt) or simply Sweet Berries.
