I suggest adding the Gorilla to the Jungle and Sparse Jungle biomes. This large, powerful primate would be a neutral mob, acting as a "protector" of the tropical forest, similar to how Iron Golems protect villages.
1. Appearance and Strength:
The Gorilla should be a 2-block tall and wide mob with a muscular build. The "Silverback" (the leader of the group) should have a distinct grey patch of fur on its back. They move on all fours but can stand up to roar when threatened.
2. Behavior: The Gentle Giant
Neutrality: Gorillas are peaceful and will not attack players unless provoked or if a player gets too close to a baby gorilla.
Chest-Beating: If a player stays too close for too long, the Gorilla will beat its chest as a warning before attacking.
Family Groups: They live in small families. If one member is attacked, the Silverback will defend the group with immense strength and knockback.
3. Interaction and Diet:
Favorite Food: Gorillas love Sugar Cane, Melons, and Leaves. Feeding them can calm a frustrated Gorilla.
The "Bamboo" Interaction: They can be seen breaking and eating Bamboo, which helps control the thickness of Bamboo Jungles.
4. Unique Mechanic: Forest Guardian
Gorillas are natural enemies of Leopards (if added) or Zombies. They will actively protect their territory from hostile monsters, making them a "safe haven" for players who set up camp near a gorilla troop.
