I suggest adding the Lynx to the game. This wild cat would inhabit Taiga, Snowy Taiga, and Mountainous forests, bringing a unique stealth mechanic to Minecraft's wildlife.
1. Appearance and Traits:
The Lynx should be larger than a domestic cat but smaller than a wolf. Key features include tufted ears, a short bobtail, and large paws for walking on snow. They could have two variants: a greyish-blue coat for snowy biomes and a reddish-brown spotted coat for regular forests.
2. Unique Stealth Behavior:
The Lynx is a master of camouflage.
Sneak Attack: It can crouch in tall grass or behind trees, becoming almost invisible. It prefers to pounce from a distance, dealing high initial damage.
Tree Climbing: Unlike wolves, the Lynx can climb trees to stay out of reach or to scout for prey like Rabbits and Chickens.
3. Interaction:
Skittish: They are very shy and will run away if they hear a player sprinting.
Taming/Trust: You cannot fully domesticate them like a pet cat, but you can gain their "Trust" by feeding them Raw Cod or Salmon. A trusting Lynx won't flee from you and might even bring you "gifts" (like Rabbit Hide or Feathers) occasionally.
4. Mechanics:
Lynxes are natural enemies of Rabbits and Foxes. At night, you can hear their distinct, high-pitched calls, adding to the atmosphere of the wild.
