I suggest adding the Brown Bear to Forest and Taiga biomes. It would be a neutral mob that adds realism and unique interactions with the environment.
1. Behavior and Temperament:
Brown Bears are neutral but become hostile if a player gets too close to their cubs (cubs have spots). They are also attracted to the smell of Sweet Berries and Honey.
2. Unique Mechanic: Hibernation & Sleep
During the night or during thunderstorms, Brown Bears find a cave or a dark spot under a tree to sleep. While they sleep, they are less likely to notice the player, allowing for a stealthy approach.
3. Interaction with Beekeeping:
If a Brown Bear finds a Bee Hive or Bee Nest, it will try to break it to get honey. This adds a challenge for players who have outdoor apiaries — they will need to protect their bees with fences.
4. Diet and Breeding:
Players can breed Brown Bears using Honey Bottles or Sweet Berries. They also love to "fish" in rivers, catching Salmon with their paws, which makes the world feel much more interactive.
5. Drops:
Brown Fur: Can be used to craft a Bear Rug (a new decorative carpet) or used as an alternative to leather.
Raw Bear Meat: Can be cooked for high saturation.
