Good morning, afternoon or evening (Depending on which time you're reading this, of course).
Mapping has always been a niche yet fun feature that has been in Minecraft for ages. As you guys are aware, the banner marker feature (A very cool and phenomenal addition btw) was added to Java around 2018. However, this has not been the case for Bedrock Edition in about 7 years. Instead of this feature, there is a workaround that involves placing a duplicate locator map that will show a simple green point depending on where you place it.
I understand that this feature seems minor compared to the other tens and thousands of features that has yet to be added to both versions. Furthermore, there are already add-ons or mods that can be implemented to workaround this but i hope you guys will consider it during the next update and consider one of these possible suggestions to make mapping more fun and easily accessible in bedrock (If you guys can come up with something better, by all means, go ahead):
1) Add the existing banner marker feature from Java to Bedrock edition
2) Add a way to distinguish different locator map duplicates (for example, instead of multiple green dots on the same map, One will be green and the other will be yellow and so on) and name the duplicates in such a way that it will show on the maps itself. (A simple but unique bedrock edition feature in theory)
If you read this, thank you! I hope you will consider these ideas soon.
Yours sincerely,
A fellow Minecraft player
