By combining dye with redstone dust, players can change redstone dust into the color of the chosen dye. However, colored redstone is not just for decoration—it also has functional uses.

Redstone dust of different colors does not connect to each other. This allows players to build redstone circuits more efficiently and cleanly, without unwanted signal interference.

There are also Colored Redstone Blocks. They come in various colors, and when placed, they emit redstone signals randomly. This would make it possible to create randomized redstone circuits.
