Add a rare village variant (1% chance) where villagers behave like the classic early MCPE villagers. These villagers react strongly when the player attacks them or breaks important village blocks, and — just like the originals — they punch back when provoked.
This is not a new mechanic. It is a recreation of real early MCPE villager behavior.
Village Generation
-
When a village generates, there is a 1% chance it becomes a Classic Village.
-
Only villagers in that village use the classic behavior set.
Visual Differences
Classic Villagers have subtle retro-inspired traits:
-
Simpler clothing
-
Older-style facial expressions
-
Slightly more basic animations
Purely cosmetic.
Behavior (Accurate to Old MCPE Villagers)
1. Classic Panic Behavior
When attacked, Classic Villagers:
-
Run around unpredictably
-
Move with jittery, simple animations
-
Turn quickly
-
Pathfind less smoothly
-
Cluster or scatter randomly
This recreates the early MCPE feel.
2. Classic Anger Triggers (NOT new mechanics)
Classic Villagers become hostile when the player:
-
Punches them
-
Breaks their doors
-
Breaks their beds
-
Breaks their workstations
These were all triggers in early MCPE behavior.
3. Classic Hostile Response — They Punch Back
When angered, Classic Villagers:
-
Punch the player (low damage, like old MCPE)
-
Chase the player
-
Bump into the player
-
Throw weak items (optional)
-
Make angry sounds
-
Calm down after a short cooldown
This is the authentic “old MCPE villager fight‑back” behavior.
