Hello Minecraft Team,
I’ve been playing Minecraft since the early days, back when the Nether Reactor still existed. Over more than a decade, I’ve seen many features added, changed, and removed.
First, I want to say you’ve done a great job with recent updates. The visual improvements, performance updates, and overall polish show real care, and thanks to Mojang’s continued work, Minecraft is still being played heavily around the world.
One feature that still feels missing in Minecraft Bedrock Edition is proper offhand control for shields. Currently, shields only activate when crouching. While crouching, movement becomes slower, and players can’t move or react freely while blocking. This makes combat feel restrictive rather than skill-based.
Compared to Java Edition, where shields can be actively controlled, Bedrock combat forces players into a stationary defensive position. I’d like to suggest adding an optional setting that allows players to bind shield usage to a dedicated button or on-screen control, while keeping the current system for those who prefer it.
This change would greatly improve PvP on Bedrock servers, make combat more enjoyable, and could even bring many players back to the game.
Thank you for your time and continued work on Minecraft.
Kind regards,
PrimeBala101
