The sea of waves

Minecraft has waves on its seas and you can build boats that float on the water out of blocks. To move the boats you need to add a boat engine and a steering wheel to get boat. To keep the boat still you would need an anchor  if. If you click an anchor it would fall to the bottom of the sea and if you click it again it would come back up. If an anchor is not down the boat would drift around.
