*I think these changes should apply in both normal graphics and Vibrant Visuals, so I've split this post into two parts.
Normal graphics: water is way too blue. In real life, water is almost never the deep, rich blue it is in Minecraft. Water would look a lot better if it was a more grayish blue color. Rain is even more jarringly blue than water; I have never in my life seen rain that looks like blue Gatorade (really hoping that's not trademark infringement 😅). If it were changed to an ordinary, translucent gray with a hint of blue, that would look so much better. Also adding little ripples on water's surface when it's raining would look amazing! (this idea inspired by JakeGo72's post) Maybe also make rain more tilted, with it getting more and then less tilted to simulate wind gusts?
Vibrant visuals: all the same stuff as above, but also: water needs to be more reflective!! In reality it is generally impossible to see to the bottom of a body of water that's even a few meters deep. I understand the need for players to be able to see to explore, but water really should not be more transparent from above compared to when you're immersed in it. The clouds especially are not reflected enough; they looked absolutely beautiful in the initial previews for VV, but now I can barely see them in the water. When it comes to rain, I think it might be neat if there were occasional "puddles" on exposed ground that are a lot more reflective.
Thanks devs for all your hard work!
