I would like to present an idea for an original Minecraft mob called Whale Creature, also known as the “Cloudeating Mob of the Cloudlayer”. The goal is to give the sky a more active role, turning it into a living ecosystem rather than just empty space above the world.
The Whale Creature would be a rare and peaceful entity that spawns at very high altitudes (Y 200+), among cloud regions or within a potential aerial biome called Cloudlayer. Visually, it resembles a whale formed from condensed clouds, moving slowly through the air as if swimming. Its main role is environmental: consuming cloud blocks to maintain sky balance, while releasing soft particles and deep, distant sounds similar to a low song.
If this creature is absent from a region for too long, subtle world changes occur, such as increased atmospheric instability at high altitudes, more frequent storms, and lightning above tall mountains. Its behavior is neutral-passive: it never attacks, but if provoked, it generates strong wind currents that push players away, making falls a potential danger.
Peaceful interactions can trigger unique moments, such as being gently carried through the air by wind currents, without direct rewards. The creature can be defeated, but this is discouraged: its drops are rare and related to aerial mobility, while killing it negatively affects the local environment.
The Whale Creature is not a boss, but an environmental entity, adding mystery, balance, and life to Minecraft’s skies.
