Lynxes would be peaceful mobs that could appear in various biomes, such as different types of forests, mountains, tundra, and perhaps others. Lynxes would be slightly larger than ocelots. Lynxes would have some unique characteristics, not taking fall damage and being able to jump great distances.
Lynxes would hunt rabbits, chickens, baby turtles, goats, sheep, foxes, armadillos, and would have a special fondness for hunting creepers and phantoms; perhaps this is the reason for all the fear of cats after all. Lynxes would be prey for wolves and polar bears.
To tame a lynx, rabbit meat is needed. Once tamed, it would be basically like a larger cat, but with the peculiarities of hunting creepers and phantoms. Furthermore, like cats, they can give gifts to the player while they sleep, with these gifts being more valuable than those of common cats.
Lynxes would only drop string upon death, just like other felines in the game.
The lynxes would be inspired by their real-life variants such as the Canadian lynx, Iberian lynx, Eurasian lynx, and the bobcat.
Lynxes are endangered, so adding them as a mob in Minecraft seems like a good way to raise awareness.
