Joy-Con Mouse Support on Nintendo Switch 2 for Minecraft Bedrock

With Nintendo Switch 2 introducing Joy-Con mouse-style controls, I would like to suggest adding native Joy-Con mouse support to Minecraft Bedrock on Nintendo Switch.

Minecraft on console is fully playable, but tasks like building, redstone work, combat aiming, and inventory management are slower and less precise with traditional analog sticks. Joy-Con mouse input would offer a perfect balance between controller comfort and mouse precision, without requiring external peripherals.

Proposed functionality:

  • Use one Joy-Con in mouse mode to control camera and cursor.

  • Pointer-style aiming for blocks, entities, and UI elements.

  • Click-style actions for mining, placing blocks, crafting, and menu navigation.

  • Optional gyro fine-tuning for added precision.

Benefits:

  • Faster and more accurate building and redstone interaction.

  • Improved combat and ranged aiming.

  • Better accessibility for players who struggle with stick-based camera control.

  • Closer parity with the PC experience.

  • Fully optional and toggleable, with no impact on existing control schemes.

Nintendo Switch 2 introduces a unique input method that fits Minecraft extremely well. Supporting Joy-Con mouse controls would modernize the Bedrock console experience and make gameplay more precise, comfortable, and accessible.

    This update for the switch 2 is long needed by now. It also gives Mojang an opportunity to sell mouse mode slotted plastics for joycons like what 3d printers are doing already. Maybe a workable minecraft block like baby chicken thats 3d printed and allows the joycon to slot next to it.

    How is this not done yet?? I believe the switch 2 could potentially be the new preferred place to play minecraft since I imagine that this control setup is ideal for comfort and ergonomy. But maybe since it's now owned by Microsoft, they are afraid that would be empowering Nintendo too much?..

    I would appreciate Minecraft switch 2 edition, if it was given the ability of mouse controls because it would make aiming easier, not to mention managing inventory better. It would also help out more with mouse controls for many other things that we do in Minecraft, including online Minecraft servers like cubecraft, lifeboat, etc. Therefore, I believe I speak for all the Nintendo gamers on Minecraft when I say, we would love it if Minecraft switch 2 edition included mouse controls.

    With the upcoming edition of it, it would be so helpful!! If you dont know how to implement use fortnite as an example on holding controller for switch 2!...

    If they don't add mouse support, please at least add gyro support.
    Aiming the bow with the joystick is a nightmare.

    I’m also supporting this! It pains me how a year later there are still barely any games on switch 2 that utilize this feature, especially with how often and aggressively nintendo marketed it originally, so having another game to support mouse controls would be very neat, especially cus it’s one of if not THE best ways to play the game

    While playing on controller is pretty okay, playing on mouse mode would improve the experience even more. Please, Mojang, add mouse mode!

    Oh my days, I really hope Minecraft adds this
    The Switch 2 is one of the few handhelds to actually have a dedicated mouse mode and is probably the only proper console that has it, and it just feels like not many games utilise this very cool feature, one game that does use it (Fortnite) added in such a way that feels INSANE, I can’t belive there isn’t a plan to add this feature in the switch 2 edition of Minecraft, PLEASE MOJANG WE NEED THIS!
