As someone who hasn't played minecraft since early Alpha days I thought I'd buy a new copy and give it a shot - in particular wanting to test out the RTX effects that have been added. The onboarding for getting into a game isn't half bad, but the UI in the menus, the process of changing graphics settings and the sheer lack of clear information on how to do most stuff is genuinely awful.
Theres too much to describe here, but little things such as going into the options menu but having -zero- visual indicators that you could scroll down is a bad start. At least put the top of an icon or some sort of fade to indicate that you could scroll down for more settings.
When going into the marketplace everything is presented as some abstracted icon and you have to click a button to bring up text to describe what they even are. Thats a crazy process to not start with text by default and then be able to hit a button to fold away the information once the player learns what these random icons do.
I dont mean to be harsh but when the early alpha version of the game from more than a decade ago is more intuitive and easier to get into than this version of the game (that makes hundreds of millions that gets poured into it) I'm actually kinda shocked
