Villager Profession Drops/Loot

Villagers with a profession should drop the item that corresponds to their profession level:

  • Level 1 drops a stone
  • Level 2 drops an iron ingot or raw iron
  • Level 3 drops a gold ingot or raw gold
  • Level 4 drops an emerald
  • Level 5 drops a diamond

This would allow you to at least get something back if your villagers are killed so you don't lose everything after putting in all that work to level them up. It would also allow you to know if they have been killed.

    Level 1 could be changed from a stone to a copper ingot.

    The emerald and diamond for Level 4 and 5 could be made the same shape as the stone in Level 1, giving them more of a gem shape and indicating that they are the highest levels. The stone would then in turn be given a similar shape to the lower levels

    Villagers could also have a chance to drop materials from their biomes.

    I disagree. If a villager drops anything when he dies, make it just be a small grave. Half slabs cobblestone above the ground, marking the death. Protect your villagers with your life or make iron golems.
