As a long-time Bedrock player, I’m asking Mojang to bring the Java combat system and full off-hand functionality to Bedrock. And the solution is simple: make it a toggleable option. Players who want the modern combat can turn it on, and those who prefer the current style can keep it. Everyone wins.
The old argument that “mobile devices can’t handle it” is outdated. Modern hardware easily supports timing-based hits, weapon cooldowns, proper shields, and full off-hand use. Bedrock already handles far heavier features.
Right now Bedrock combat is shallow. It encourages spam-clicking and removes skill. Java combat adds timing, precision, and real strategy. It improves PvP and PvE instantly.
The off-hand also needs to work like Java’s. On Bedrock it’s basically decorative. Players should be able to use torches, food, tools, and shields properly.
The community has been asking for this for years. Unifying combat—while keeping it optional—reduces confusion, helps creators, and finally puts both editions on equal footing.
Bedrock is no longer a “lite” version. It deserves the same quality. Please add Java combat and true off-hand, with a toggle for those who prefer the classic style.
