Way to improve minecarts

As a way of transportation , minecarts has been overtaken by elytras , many people suggested that they should make minecarts faster and so do I but not by just increasing its overall speed. As this might disrupt some Redstone farms and some people's builds , so I think Minecraft should add a way to allow players to speed up their minecarts such as a new block that can speed up or maybe U can boost minecarts by putting more powered rails.
